| Approaching the 21st century, understanding cultural differences and discovering similarities may be crucial for survival. It is time to eliminate antisemitism, racism and detachment from each other. With the age of multiculturalism upon us, MEMORIES OF THE SHTETL offers an insight and a visual glimpse into a vanished way of life. There are books, poems, songs, plays and texts describing the daily life of the Eastern European Jew from 1882-1904. Today, that epic has found a teller of its story from paint to film. Brought to life by the camera, we can now see a world that no longer exists. A beautiful and moving story is told from the notable and acclaimed paintings by Samuel Rothbort. We are privileged to enter the Shtetl - the old ghetto - and share the courtships, weddings, the old wooden synagogue, schooling and much more of the daily life - all shown with love and compassion.
