The symbols of the 12 tribes of Israel are engraved on 12 small separate plaques that are connected to emphasize the responsibility that the children of Israel have one toward the other, that despite their differences they are one nation with an essential connection. The Mezuzah is crowned with the Hebrew letter Shin.
