Time Capsule, 1999,
commissioned by the National Museum of American Jewish History, Philadelphia, for their
1999 gala event. It will house video and photographic images about the museum and
its constituents. It is to be sealed for 100 years. |
The lid features
a rendering of the sculpture Religious Liberty, created by Sir Moses Jacob Ezekiel for the
Philadelphia Centennial Exposition in 1876. The sides of the Time Capsule feature
names of patrons of the museum. 24" x 24" x 24"; fluorite octohera,
abalone, teratella agate, leopard-skin jasper, rhodonite, pyrite; 24 semi-precious stones
and minerals repeat throughout the four sides (including amethyst, tigereye, turquoise,
jade) |

retrieval door at rear bottom; It is on a stone finish 12" stand, bringing the total

The Jewish
Federation logo is repeated on the left and right faces of the mosaic. |
The Jewish Path, 2000,
commissioned by Temple Beth Sholom in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania; 7' (84")
Diameter; imagery symbolizes the Jewish people's pursuit of their religion through
observance and adherence to its ideals; lion and lamb within kingdom of G-d, Star of
David, symbols of doves, shofar, lulav and etrog, Sedar plate, menorah; fruits and leaves
symbolize the sweetness of G-d. |
