The present headquarters of NKF were first opened in the early 70’s as a workshop, gathering visitors, artists, critics, students and the public in general.

Buenos Aires is going through an auspicious development regarding the arts field: there has been a significant increase in the number of visitors to museums -the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes received one million visitors during 1997, the Centro Cultural Recoleta holds 25,000 visitors each weekend - and an investment of 15 million pesos is expected, both from public and private support.

At NKF, we seek to develop a place where artists, students and visitors can easily and permanently enjoy, study or research any artistic topic of their interest, and to provide sculptural, bibliographical, historical and human material.

The work -both the sculpture and its interaction with the public- is unfinished. To make progress in this direction, decisions should be based upon long-term planning, strategy definition and goal fixing, elements which will allow our cultural institution to elaborate programs that the public can understand, use and enjoy. To sum up, it is a matter of skilful management of concepts and tools, in order to handle complex situations, involving human and material resources.
