Lana was born in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1963.  She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1985.  Thereafter, she continued her studies in America at New York University, where she received the "Founders Day Award" for outstanding scholarship and achieced a place on the Deans Honours Role in 1988.

Lana is married with three children and currently lives in the Judean Hills near Jerusalem.  Her work can be found in both private and public collections worldwide.  She has exhibited in South Africa, Israel and the United States of America.
