Carol, you have an unusual wit that you combine with your talent. Building your gallery has been a treat. I almost renamed your "Best Seller" to "Pulp Fiction" and had fun counting the shoes in "Shoe Fetish." It's impossible not to pun your puns. You Stanford women are so special! Welcome to ARTcnet! (I must congratulate you for having your sculpture "Barbies Unbound" on the cover of the Arts & Leisure section of the Main Line Life newspaper on January 7, 1999.) Fondly, Phyllis Zemble

Carol, Saw the article in the paper and had to check out the site. What fun! I love seeing the variety of your pieces and being able to see some of the details in the closer views where some of the texture comes through. Best of luck with this forum. Ginny Kreitler

Carol, If being seen on TV makes something real (starvation in Ethiopia, for instance), being seen on the net makes you seem both familiar and famous at the same time. Your work ia amazing. I love the use of computer parts and other modern detritus. Keep it up. Jef Sneider, Syracuse

Hi Carol,

Just thought I would let you know that I took a look at the site, and your work looks good. It would be great if you had a page on the PS website, and we could then link you to this site. You can e-mail Peter Frantz about this at pfrantz@primavera.com. Good luck! Leslie

Carol,

We really enjoy your sculpture and seeing it from Egypt, where everything is a found object, and paper is 5000 years old. Jonathan is doing reserach on sculpture on the web for his IB sculpture class.

Sincerely,

Greetings from another Carol Cole in Fairfield, Connecticut, U.S.A.

Your work is fabulous. Sensitive and beautifully executed.

I am also an artist, a painter. It was fun to see my name in Art News. I had to know who the other Carol Cole was. Unfortunately we are thousands of miles apart.

Carol Cole is my maiden name. If you are interested in e-mail, my address is: CMANASEVIT@AOL.COM.

Happy 2000. Would be interested in hearing from you if you have time.

Hi Carol,

From reading the previous entries here it looks like this is one of your first forays on to the web...welcome! It is strange how I found you...I am looking for ideas on integrating technology scraps of old computers and whatever into a sculpture. I am the Director of Technology at Sage Ridge School in Reno, Nevada and am going to have upper school students do this for the third term. I am working with the art instructor here as I am more of a tech head than art buff...if you have any ideas on this...or would like more exposure in the realm of education...shoot me a line...

Thanks for the great experience on line!

Hello Carol, my name is Ruth Roberts and I am currently studing Sculpture at Southdowns college-Portsmouth England. Iam producing pieces of work using Barbie dolls and came across your 'barbies unbound ' and 'three graces'. hi carol

I just visited your gallery and am very impressed by your work. I am a young artist looking to possibly begin exporing paper pulp as a new medium. Your pieces show a freedom with the material I have not seen before. Thank you for sharing your work online and for the inspiration to create using paper pulp.

Hi Carol! I am enjoying your website and love what you have done! I am a paper sculptor and am making final preparations for my first gallery show this Saturday. (Sept 6th). My pieces are whimsical and include dolls, masks, vases, bowls, boxes, etc. All of my work is 3 dimensional paper pulp over an armiture. This is fun stuff isn't it! I really enjoyed viewing your work...so unusual and creative! I've never heard of using polystyrene to create sculptures. I'm an artist, too. Can you tell me where you purchase polystryene and how you incorporate it into your pieces? Thanks

Hi Carol, Tom Goldbaum gave me your name on my last visit. I also am an artist and work with found and recycled objects, toys, mirror fragments, etc. to make assemblages and constructions. Also resonate with work by Joseph Cornell. I like your use of paper over the objects to transform them, as well as your tribal imagery and reference to Architypes. It's good to see your work. When I get my stuff on a website, I'll share it with you. Best wishes... David Evelyn artdave@cox.net
